Who Should Have Been?

Just after reading my last post I couldn't help but wonder, who should have been, or who should be the biggest star in wrestler, that never really lived up to their full potential?

My suggestions:

1. Ultimate Warrior: Defeated Hulk Hogan in the main event of Wrestlemania 6 and then fizzled away without every living up to that kind of push. Seems to have gone crazy and blames Hogan and Vince.

Ultimate Warrior

2. Bill Goldberg: The undefeated streak that will never be broken. The biggest star to ever rise in WCW. Just like the Warrior, he defeated Hulk Hogan to win his first World Title. Then never amounted to anything after that. Scott Hall shocked him with a taser so Kevin Nash could end his steak and basically his career.

Bill Goldberg

3. Brock Lesner: Exploded on the scene, known as "The Next Big Thing" aka the next Warrior, the next Goldberg. Destroyed everyone in his path. Brock vs Rock, youngest champion (at that point). Main events Wrestlemania 19 with Kurt Angle. The following year they bring back Goldberg to pass the torch to Lesner at Wrestlemania 20, but instead Lesner announces he is quitting wrestling.

Brock Lesner

4. Bobby Lashely: Should have been another Goldberg or Lesner. Left WWE and went to TNA. Embarrassed himself with his wife running his career. Was thrown out of TNA, and last I heard was on his way to MMA.

5. Rob Van Dam: Was the biggest star in ECW. Was only used as their TV Champ, but held that title undefeated for over 2 years. But never given a Heavyweight Title shot. Finally comes to WWE, is the fastest rising star with Lesner, but then is dropped and forgotten until he won the Money In The Bank, cashed it in at the ECW PPV and defeated Cena to win the ECW and WWE Titles. However, a week later was arrested with Sabu for possession of weed, and WWE forced him to drop both titles and suspended him. He was never given another shot, and later quit the company. Finally arrives in TNA, Hogan pushes him as the top guy, he defeats the best wrestler in TNA, AJ Styles, to win the Championship, but then is attacked by Abyss and stripped of the title and has yet to win anything since.

6. Batista: When WWE decided to try to make some new stars, since Austin, Rock, Mankind and others were all on the way out, Triple H, the current Champion started a group called Evolution. The idea being that Ric Flair was the past, Triple H was the present, and the guys they picked would be the future. Those guys were Randy Orton and Dave Batista. Both quickly rose to the main event and became World Champions. However, it seems like Vince and the WWE decided that Cena was their top guy. Even though Batista started the same time, they won their World Titles at the same Wrestlemania, and when against each other the first time Batista broke John Cena's neck. Yet Cena is still the top guy and Batista is retired and running a gym. Why?

Batista

7. Jeff Hardy: His story seems to be all his own fault because of his drug issues. Still, he is a guy that finally became a main event singles star. Was given the push in the WWE but wasn't happy. They didn't like his personal problems. So he went to TNA, they built the company around him, he designed their new belt. Then the infamous match with Sting where he was too drunk or high to compete and poof his career was over.

Jeff Hardy

8. Bryan Clark: aka Adam Bomb in WWE and Wrath in WCW, but most notably in WCW as the tag team Kronik with Bryan Adams (aka Crush in WWE). He was a huge monster, looked like Goldberg and Lesner. When he was in the WWE they promised to make him a huge star, but then he found they never did anything to promote him. He was making his own merchandise and promoting himself, and got the point where he was in line for a title shot as Intercontinental Champion, but they decided to go another way. He left the company for WCW who promised him the world, and yet again he was wasting away. Then we formed a tag team that was unstoppable, that is until Vince bought the company and told them to go back to the minors. He has never been seen since.

9. Shelton Benjamin: I thought next to RVD he was the most talented and least used star in the WWE. Both should have been main event superstars, but neither were. Why? He was Brock Lesners roommate in college. An All-American wrestler in college. He was part of Team Angle. Part of "The World's Greatest Tag Team." He was known as the "Gold Standard" and won just about every title in the WWE except of course for the World Title. Recently he decided he would rather wrestle in ROH so that's why he disappeared, but its a shame, WWE should not allow guys this talented to walk away. Soon they will have no talented wrestlers left.

10. Kerry Von Erich: One of the saddest stories in the history of wrestling. Much like the Hart family of Calgary, this was the legendary wrestling family of Texas. Of all of them this was the one that was gonna make it. He defeated Ric Flair to win the NWA Title, but was stripped of it not long after. Came to the WWE as the Texas Tornado, and looked like the Ultimate Warrior. As a kid I actually thought they were related lol. He was gonna be a huge star. He had issues like Hardy thought. He was in a motorcycle crash and lost his foot. He eventually killed himself.

Edge should also be mentioned. He won nearly 50 championships in his carreer, and yet it feels like it was just getting started. Edge was the guy that I thought would replace Triple H and be the top guy in the company with Cena and Orton. But now he is gone.

Edge

Bret Hart was screwed over more than anyone and left in his prime just to have his career cut short by a kick to the head and a heart attack. Its a shame, he was the most talented I ever saw. I wish I could have seen him wrestle Kurt Angle!
