TNA today released IMPACT WRESTLING star Matt Hardy from its roster. Hardy was already under suspension from the company.
Basically the story goes like this: Matt was suspended from TNA, while home in North Carolina, Matt was badmouthing TNA online, and causing a lot of bad press for the company. Then he was recently arrested for drunk driving, and TMZ reported that he was currently working for TNA, as soon as that story came out, it was then reported on TMZ that TNA had released Matt Hardy. I wonder if there was a connection lol. One Hardy is a drug addict who needs to be in rehab, and now the other one gets arrested for drunk driving. I think TNA has taken all the bad publicity it can handle from the Hardy brothers lol. So sadly, enough is enough, and TNA is cutting them loose finally. Its a shame though, Jeff actually had talent... too bad Matt didn't, and too bad neither of them had any braincells, they could have had long legendary careers, instead they become wrestling tragedies.
Jeff Hardy was the top guy in TNA, he took over as Champion after RVD and TNA created a new title belt just for Jeff, something that doesn't really happen very often: Stone Cold Steve Austin was given the "Smoking Skull" Belt, and basically the "Spinner" Belt was created for John Cena. Likewise, TNA created that stupid 'Purple' Belt for Jeff Hardy. If that wasn't enough, TNA signed the washed up, mid-card, nobody, Matt Hardy and gave him a spot in Immortal and a main event spot within the company. However, Jeff Hardy threw it all away and went from being the top guy, the champ, to being a washed up, rehab, quickly forgotten nobody. This left his brother Matt with nobody's coattails to ride, just like when his career washed up in the WWE after Jeff left him there alone. This time however, Matt decided to make matters worse for himself this time around. Somehow his attitude became too much of a problem for TNA to deal with and he was suspended and he went into rants online about it and as a result as finally just be outright released. And having burned his bridge to the WWE I would imagine his career is over much like his brother Jeff's. Its too bad though, Jeff unlike Matt actually had talent.
The only question I have, since TNA has publicly released Matt Hardy, what is the status of Jeff Hardy? Has he been released? Is he in rehab? Will he becoming back to TNA? Will Triple H be rehiring him to the WWE to try and save that company that is failing miserable, despite the fact that CM Punk is the hottest thing in wrestling right now and could draw ratings anywhere he goes!

Quick flashback, does anyone remember the great SummerSlam match between Jeff Hardy and CM Punk, where Jeff Hardy did the "Swanton-Bomb" off the tallest ladder I've ever seen, through the announce table, and was stretchered away from the ring, only to rush back to try to stop CM Punk from climbing the ladder, only to fail, and CM Punk won the match and the World Title, only to have the lights go out and the Undertaker to take Jeff's spot and destroy CM Punk. That was epic. Puts this year's SummerSlam to shame and reminds me what wrestling could be!
